Although we have always focused on the outdoor ping pong tables from Cornilleau, their indoor collection is not to be forgotten. The Cornilleau 500 Indoor is definitely a step up from the typical residential ping pong tables you find at most homes. The 500 Indoor from Cornilleau has a new design just released in the Spring of 2016. Whether you are holding a neighborhood tournament or just want your kids to get up from the video games and get some exercise the table is perfect. The 500 Indoor Cornilleau features a beautiful design with arched legs and enhanced styling not seen in most competitors tables.
The tabletop thickness is 22mm (7/8 inch) and it comes in traditional blue color. The material used is high density chipboard – perfect for indoor play and quality ball bounce. We have found that the playing surface holds up well to constant play. There is no warping, scratching, or chipping. The corner protection pads also help keep the corners in great shape. We like that the corner pads are just one extra safety feature when it comes to young children being around the table. Smaller children are susceptible to hitting the corners of ping pong tables and Cornilleau took that into consideration when designing the 500 Indoor. Get Pricing Here
How about safety? Cornilleau does an excellent job with a 16 point locking system. The central release handle allows you to quickly and securely open or close the table. While the table is in storage or playing positions, it’s fully locked. We believe Cornilleau has the highest level of safety amongst all the ping pong table brands. The Cornilleau 500 Indoor weighs over 200 pounds and will fold compactly into storage mode.
Frame – The legs are arched in design with a steel insert to add stability. At the bottom of each leg is a pad that can be height adjusted so you can always find a level playing surface. Places like garages and basements are notorious for uneven flooring and having the adjustable legs is beneficial. To support the heavy tabletop, the frame features 1 ¾ inch structural galvanized steel. The overall design is simplistic yet elegant in our eyes.
Wheels – If you’ve ever had to move a ping pong table, you can know it can be a hassle without quality wheels. Enhanced mobility is what Cornilleau offers on the 500 Indoor with 6 inch double caster wheels. The wheels are smooth and roll easily on hardwood floors, carpets, cement garage floors and even decking. The wheels also features a safety brake so you can lock the table into position.
The permanent net system is easy to adjust for both height and tension. When you are ready to store the table, the net system retracts between the two tabletop panels. This allows for the most compact storage option available and it adds to the safety of the table.
Bonus Features – Each side of the table (below the net area) has storage for 2 paddles and 8 ping pong balls. Keep your treasured ping pong racquet in a safe place. There are also new ball dispensers on this model – each placed right at the end of the table on both sides. Load them up with balls before playing so you don’t have to chase every ball that goes awry. More Reviews Here
